ACI CNY President's Message - August 2022 
President's Message
Hello ACI CNY members,
Your Board of Directors has been hard at work this summer lining up presentations and events for the winter meeting season.
Below is the current line up. Please mark your calendars.
* Sept 21, 2022 - Dr. Ken Hover!
He will be talking about “Corrosion of Reinforcing Steel in plain language”. This event is always well attended as his talks are entertaining and informative. Registration information to follow soon.
* Oct 19, 2022 - Road Trip!
Your Board has scheduled a tour of Northeast Solite where they manufacture lightweight aggregates. This is down in the Hudson Valley, so it should be a good time. Details to follow.
Nov 16, 2022 - David Biggs (Ryan Biggs, and masonry guru)
David will be presenting on masonry construction / design. Again, details to follow.
Jan 18, 2023 - Speaker TBD, topic is pumping concrete. Your Board felt this was of great interest as so much of our concrete is now being delivered through a pump. If anyone knows if a good speaker, please contact Mark Lalomia with Riccelli - Northern.
Feb 15, 2023 - PLC or Portland Lime Cement
We had a webinar on this topic a year ago, but we feel it needs to be addressed again as the producers are using it primarily now in place of Type 1/2. Speaker TBD, but planning on co-hosting with NY-ACPA.
March 15, 2023 - Board meeting only
April 5, 2023 - The spectacular Awards Banquet - Think about which project you should submit and take pictures!
*Membership renewals will be due October 1, 2022 for most members. An email will be sent out in the near future for you and your firm to renew your membership.*
